Beat the Blues Dance Berkeley Wednesdays

When:  Wednesdays Weekly
Time:  7 PM – 8 PM  Practice or series lesson (separate admission)   
8 PM – 9 PM Beginner-friendly drop-in lesson (included in admission)
9 PM – 12 AM  Social Dance   
Cost:  Sliding scale $6 – $16 for practice, drop-in and social dance
Where:   La Pena, 3105 Shattuck Ave, Berkley, CA  Parking: Easily available on the street,  Public transit: A quick 2 block walk from the Ashby BART station
About:  Blues dancing is all about connection, musicality, partnership and having fun! It can range from sensual to sad to gritty to soulful and anything in between. Our DJs play a variety of vintage and modern blues music in many styles and tempos, suitable for many styles of blues dancing.

If you've never danced before, no worries. We teach a beginner-friendly drop-in lesson before every dance from 8-9, and it's even included in the price of admission! Once you're ready to take your dancing to the next level, we teach practicas and series classes from 7-8.
• No partner necessary, all ages welcome  
• Wear comfortable shoes (we recommend smooth soles)
Notes :  Beat the Blues is a fun, friendly dance with an attached restaurant that boasts the best sangria in the Bay Area. There’s a drop-in lesson at 8pm with rotating topics, followed by dancing to a range of music.  La Pena (They have a restaurant and bar too!)
