When: Wednesdays 7:15 - 9:00 PM Weekly
Cost: $15 - 20 cash only *Volunteering Opportunities Available!

About: Soul Motion™ Oakland: Building a diverse and inclusive community through dance
We play with world music, electronic beats, silence, movement and stillness to support us in reconnecting with our bodies and communities.
We co-create a non-verbal, barefoot, mutually respectful and substance-free space with an atmosphere of safety, sacred intention, healing and fun.
All Bodies Welcome • LGBTQIA+ • POC • Allies • No Experience Needed
What to bring: •A bottle of water •Comfortable clothing •The curious mind of a child!
Typical format of the class:
•The first 20-30 minutes of class, we warm into our bodies, arrive into the space and begin unwinding from the day. How that looks/feels will be different in each person.
(No experience needed and all abilities welcome!)
•We spend the next 60(ish) minutes dancing with an inquiry/invitation/exercise that is related to daily life and how we can move in and through the world with more ease, awareness, connection to ourselves and others. Using world music, electronic beats, silence, movement exercises and stillness practices as guides and inspirations to teach us about relating to ourselves and to our community. We co-create an atmosphere of safety, mutual respect, sacred intention, healing and fun.
•We close the evening by gathering in circle and sharing experiences verbally.
•Every evening there will be an altar to honor our ancestors and share gratitude for our planet and all beings living and past-on.
