Times:  5:25 - 6:30 Pacific time, 8:25-9:30 pm (EDT)    Arrive 5:25 as Music Starts Full Speed immediately after.

Musically:  This is more current dance music, almost club dance music but with a more Ecstatic slant.  Their variety is one of the best of all the other dance nights. A much shorter slow start as this is only an hour long, plan on being ready to dance as soon as you sign in.  We have a short circle at the end where you will be invited to share briefly a reflection about your experience at this time, a poem, quote or song or something you for which you are thankful. No one has to share (you can always pass).

The scene :  Dance Freedom is a community event. This may be the "original" dance jam of all time.  This group goes all the way back to the beginning, to the 1960'/80's with Dances in Cambridge, Watertown, Newton, and Brookline.  This is more current dance music and the variety is one of the best. It's been around since 1968, and it's the longest running dance.

About:  We meet on zoom, from our homes….in different time zones and dance together. This is a sacred space and begins at 8:30 EST sharp, with Zoom opening approx 15 minutes before, and a 5 minute closing circle.

Core statement : Dance Freedom sees itself as creating a "sacred space" - not in a religious sense - rather as a precious ritual outside every day reality where the community can come together through dance and music to celebrate humanity, our planet, our universe, and the power of love and movement as a healing and transformative power.   

Dance Freedom believes that music and free style dance together are one of the most powerful vehicles for the expression of joy, creativity, human unity, as well as healing, ecstasy, and spiritual transformation. Countless participants through the three decades of our existence have shared these experiences, many were inspired to start new dances like ours all over the world.
